Homer Nye: – Thoughts of Gratitude and Reflection: Homer shared a birthday story he often remembered: The husband presented his wife with a brand new red sport car that she was thrilled to drive. However, he did have some (foresight). Shortly afterward, she had an accident & crashed the car. Reaching into the glovebox for (title/ins) he had put in a large note, “Don’t worry, I still love you”! Always remember, what’s important.

Program Introduction: Beth Karczewski: Dr. David Wright – Munson Campus Expansion
Doctor Wright presented a visual overhead comparison of the Munson campus from the 1920’s / 50’s/ current /and proposed expansion to be completed in the next few years.
The growth of this multi-functional medical campus now serves the greater Northwestern Michigan.
The theme of Doctor Wright’s presentation focused on what is “The Next Chapter” in the Munson Expansion. The Plan establishes a “Family Birth & Children’s Center”, This new facility will be housed in a new Tower building that will consolidate all aspects to serve families and new babies from birth and offer prenatal care. The Pediatrics unit will contain a variety of services and facilities to house mothers and parents that require longer and overnight stays to eliminate long travel visits. Included are features such as:
private family rooms;
maternal care;
traditional nursery, etc.

Fundraising to date $ 10 million / Goal $36 million.
WHERE: Grand Traverse Distillery – the tasting room on 215 E. Front Street, directly across the street from U&I.
WHEN: Monday, October 28th, 5:30 to 8:00.
WHAT: The Distillery serves craft cocktails made with their award-winning locally produced liquor, local wines from Shady Lane Cellars and Brengman Brothers, as well as BeeWell mead and cider. Light snacks. It's very spacious with a variety of seating in the bar, as well as space in the back with couches and chairs.
BONUS: They have generously created a menu of discounts for our Rotary Club event, including $5 glasses of Runaway Red and Runaway White wine, and $7 specialty cocktails, such as Our Godfather, Lavender Lemonade, Hello Boys Martinis, Reserved Fashion and a plain ole Gin and Tonic. Intriguing!

The quoted room rate of $109.95 per night is guaranteed until midnight on Friday, October 11, 2019. After October 11th, rates may be adjusted to the regular room rack rate.
