As for the meeting....
Awesome Allison Beers called the meeting to order.
Lee Olewinski offered thoughts of gratitude and reflection, encouraging us to treat God's word as more precious than gold.
Cindy Ruzak encouraged everyone to get out their kazoos and sing "Sales Deadline is Due" (to the tune of Happy Birthday) and "Here Comes TC's Rotary Show" (to the tune of Peter Cottontail). Much to Cindy's dismay, singing participation was even worse than usual.
Nikki Sobkowski introduced visiting Rotarians and guests. '
Thom Paulsen introduced the student of the week: Annika Hansen. Annika is a student at West Senior High who hopes to make a career as an astrophysicist. She is dual enrolled at NMC for Astronomy and plans to attend Michigan State. Go Green!! Annika said she is very grateful for the staff and resources at West.
Awesome Allison congratulated Warren Call on his new position as CEO of TraverseCONNECT.
Max Anderson reminded everyone about the impending ad sales deadline.
Al Zelinski said he wants you to buy Rotary Show tickets.
Student of the Week Annika won the 50-50. How about that??
Phil Murphy introduced the speaker, which in this instance was a group TC West students performing numbers from their upcoming musical Newsies. West Choir Director Eric Wangeman said that it has been wonderful to see the musical (also performed by Central students) bring students from both schools together. The community is very lucky to have deep talent across the area, he said, leading to excellent performances at both schools. There are three performances left (tonight at 7, Saturday at 7 and Sunday at 2) so check it out!!
