President Homer Nye kicked off his first solo outing without any rough spots and had the club humming right along. He managed to “Welcome” everyone and slid right on into “God Bless America” and “Pledge of Allegiance.” Before anyone knew it, he had Sid Lammers up front with a few thoughts of Gratitude and Reflection, and from there jauntily crooning right on into coupla tunes with Cindy Ruzak leading the charge.

Thom Paulson jumped to the task of introductions before we met three, count ‘em three! - New Members. Becky Ewing sponsored Jerry Ring; Sakura Takano introduced us to Kate Redman and Lynn Moon brought transfer member Al Long to our attention. Make sure you say hello to these new folks over the next few weeks!

Sakura, ever the busy committee member, introduced the Traverse City High School Summer Work Study Program, its instructors and most of its student workers. They gave a short report on their program for this summer, and each of the students had an opportunity to make a short statement of the various aspects. Well managed.

President Homer tossed out his thank you to Kat Paye and the many, many volunteers who made Cherry Festival a big success for the entire community. Vern Gauthier Had a few kudos for his dedicated and growing Lawn Chair Drill Team folks who led off the Cherry Royale Parade with their incredible precision, moxie and panache!

Jen Casey reminded all about the upcoming 9/11 Honor Run. Keep watching your email for a message from Kathy B. about this and your opportunity to get involved.
