About the program: Next Chapter Host Homes is based right here in Traverse City and offers a community-based approach to help prevent and end youth homelessness. The program matches youth to adults willing to temporarily share their home. During the homestay, both the host and the youth receive comprehensive support and training. This is a true community response to helping unhoused youth step into the next stable chapter of their life.
At the meeting, hear from: Maureen Voss, the coordinator of the Next Chapter Host Home program. Ashley Halladay-Schmandt, the director of the NW MI Coalition to End Youth Homelessness. Ayriel Pettit, a former youth host home participant will share her perspective of living with homelessness at the age of sixteen in the Traverse City area and how host homes helped her through that time.
