WHAT WCS DOES
World Community Service brings together Traverse City Rotarians and international partners to address community-identified needs, build lasting relationships and create opportunities for meaningful international service.
Create opportunities for Rotarians to experience international service firsthand and bring those experiences home.
Work alongside trusted local organizations, Rotary clubs and community leaders who understand their communities best.
Support sustainable projects that expand educational opportunity, improve health and strengthen communities.
EDUCATION & OPPORTUNITY
Divine Mercy School, Kanungu, Uganda — part of an ongoing Rotary partnership involving Traverse City.
In Uganda and Guatemala, Traverse City Rotary works with local partners to help students gain access to education—and the opportunities that follow.
Divine Mercy School is a long-term partnership involving education, water, nutrition and school sustainability.
Próximos Pasos provides girls an educational pathway extending through high school and toward university and professional training.
SERVICE LEARNING
Service learning brings Traverse City Rotarians into the communities and relationships behind our international work. Participants meet local leaders, visit projects, experience the culture and better understand both the challenges communities face and the solutions they are building.
OUR APPROACH
Projects begin with needs and priorities identified by communities.
We invest in trusted partnerships that grow over time.
Projects should create meaningful benefits beyond Rotary's initial investment.
We expect responsible stewardship, measurable results and transparency.
