Meeting recap - September 27th

  • President Marlene shared the great life of Peter Strom and held a moment of silence for his passing. 
  • Marlene shared her Thoughts of Gratitude and Reflection: A prayer for the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah September 25th - 27th. 
  • Lisa Brady introduced Visiting Rotarians and Rotarians with guests: a lovely group from the Grand Traverse Conservation District attended. 
  • A special meeting was held to vote on the Rotary Charities and Rotary Camps & Services board members. We did meet the quorum requirement so thank you to everyone who reached out to a fellow Rotarian.
  • Diana Milock showed the entire club how Happy Bucks should be done.  
  •  The 50/50 was $78 and was won by Miriam! 
  • Al Bonney gave a quick Polio update sharing the importance of fulfilling the initial goal: To Eradicate Polio!
  • We heard from Outstanding Student Anastasia who is from Ukraine and is unable to return home. She is taking classes at high school and at NMC in the meantime. 
  • Sakura Takano presented for Rotary Charities giving details about the strategies and leadership training they've created. She then introduced Koffi Kpachavi from the conservation District to present about the Incubator Farm model to educate our next generation of food growers.

The Cadillac Rotary Club is hosting the 2022 White Pine Ride on October 1. Save the Date!

  • Ride the scenic north end of the White Pine Trail with the Rotary Club of Cadillac & friends. Support the trail and Rotary while having a great time riding with family and friends. There will be a picnic after the ride

The annual Jim Van Memorial Outing is scheduled for Friday, October 7th, 1:00 - 4:00 followed by a campfire.

  • We have a variety of tasks including the planting of apple trees, formalizing a trailhead, removing old tree stand lumber, and blocking a pipeline access to ORVs.
  • Please arrive at the trailhead near the bridge and bring sturdy shoes and gloves. Please call Steve Largent at 231.883.9960 if you have any questions.
