Traverse City Rotary Communications– Chair Brendon Koshoshek
Brendon informed us that for the past year he has been engaged in a special assignment to enhance the public image and mission of Rotary in general, but especially Traverse City Rotary specifically. He has applied his knowledge in the field of “marketing” to study successful companies and organizations that stand-out due to their public “perception”.
He invited several attendees (20 years, 5 year & 1-year members to describe “what is Rotary”).  Each person answered in a very positive way, but also with diversified explanations.
Using this info, Brandon presented an example of a very familiar and very successful image of McDonald's that demonstrates universal attributes that made them great: (a) products, (b) quality, (c) management, (d) training and above all consistency in all areas of pursuit.

TC Rotary is approaching their 100th Anniversary and the Board of Directors with Brendon’s expertise is undertaking a program to define the Club’s Image to coincide with the attributes of a Premier Organization that encompasses all of the significant challenges that face and guide our Humanity Calling.  This is to include charity, public service, education, health, environment, social justice, humanity, citizenship, as well as domestic and international application.  Rotarians must know and understand our legacy.  For background and as a good start, read “To Whom Much Is Given”, Ronald W. Sondee, TC Rotary Publication as a guide.

All Club members are encouraged to participate with ideas and ways to define the True Meaning and Pursuit of Rotary.  Rotarians, Lisa Pointe, and Rebecca Binder have volunteered act as the sounding bank to consolidate image ideas and bird-dog this project.
No, we don't pay presenters but Rotarian & Guest Presenter ~ Communications Chair Brendon Koshoshek won the 50/50 pot :)
