May Social Event
Be sure to join in the summer kick-off this coming Wednesday when Discovery Pier will be hosting us to celebrate its new open-air pavilion, Venue Blue.  The 4,000 square-foot covered pavilion is right on the water, of course, and has the most beautiful views of our Bay possible.

Through the generosity of Camps & Services, we will have grilled burgers and hot dogs, and we're asking those who attend to bring a side, salad, dessert, or any picnic fare to share -- optional, as always, but as evidenced by past events, I think you can count on some tasty extras. It's BYOB -- bring your own beverages to enjoy.

We can also expect a contingent of Sunrise Rotarians we've invited to join in the festivities.  Your significant others are welcome too.

It all starts at 5:00 continuing until 7:30.  There's parking on the Pier and across M-22 at the Discovery Center.

IMPORTANT:  Please let us know that you're planning to attend.  If you've already RSVP'd, no need to do it again, but otherwise, please send an email to Susan Kraus at susankraus231@gmail.com.

Can't wait to explore this lovely new space!

Brazil Disaster Relief
Last Tuesday, one of our exchange students Luiz informed us of a devastating flood that has affected 455 of his home country Brazil's 497 cities. It is the largest flood in Brazil's history. Many generous Rotarians made donations that will go directly to Rotary-sponsored disaster relief in the area. We raised a total of $1,917! If you did not get a chance to donate and would still like to you can send a check to Liz at 13170 S. West Bayshore Dr. Traverse City MI 49684 or you can email admin@traversecityrotary.org to let Liz know how much to bill your account.

Thank you for your generosity!
Matching Funds Requests
The first round of matching fund requests are due on June 1st! For those who are not familiar with the process, the Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation will match up to $250 annually for any Rotarian who donates to a non-profit within the 5 county area. All you have to do is record your donation on this form here and make sure you give it to Liz and you're all set! Don't panic if you don't make this deadline, you can still claim your match by turning in a form anytime between now and December 1st for it to be dispersed in round two. Any questions, please contact Liz at admin@traversecityrotary.org
Contact Info Update
If you have not filled out the Google form to confirm your contact info please do so here! Liz will be manually updating ClubRunner & Quickbooks to make sure everyone's information is up to date so everyone gets their Rotary news and invoices. Thank you!

Happy Birthday this week to these members! Have a great week and eat some cake!
