Rotary Charities and Camps & Services Elections
The boards of Rotary Charities and Rotary Camps & Services are now accepting
nomination forms for the Board of Trustees. Terms will begin October 2025 and end
September of 2028. Any Rotarian who has been a member of and active in, the club for
five years and is currently in good standing may apply (note: if the Rotarian transfers in
from another club and has at least 5 years total between the two, or if they have served
in the capacity of Presidential Designee, they are eligible to run). Key characteristics for Rotary Charities and Rotary Camps & Services board members:
- Proven leadership
- Strong community connections
- Nonprofit board experience
- Exemplary of the Four Way Test
- Objective, with no personal agenda
- Respectful of differing opinions
- Collaborative
- Strategic thinker
- Visionary
- Creativity
- 5-county perspective
The time commitment varies with each board, committee membership, and role. Both
boards meet monthly for 1 ½ - 2 hours. There will be additional time for joint board
meetings, legacy trustee meetings, committees/task forces, and grant meetings (Rotary Charities Board only). Plan on a monthly commitment of 5 – 15 hours.
Applications are due back to the Rotary Charities Office by September 5, 2025.
At the September 16, 2025 (3rd Tuesday) Rotary Club meeting, the Joint Nominating
Committees will propose a slate of candidates for election. Additionally, nominations
will be taken from the floor at that time. The election will take place at the annual
meeting of Rotary Charities and Rotary Camps & Services on September 23, 2025 (4th
Tuesday).
Join us in supporting recovery efforts inSanta Maria de Jesús, Guatemala,following the devastatingJuly 8th earthquake. This trip, organized byJohn Cox (Rotary Club of Traverse City member and Mission Impact staff), will focus on repairing homes and assisting with ongoing construction projects coordinated by Mission Impact, our trusted non-profit partner.
Over the years, the club has partnered with Mission Impact and other Rotary clubs to support several schools in Santa Maria, including Proximo Pasos Elementary, New Hope Nursing School, and a lab technician school. Adental hygienist school is also currently under construction.
The team will focus primarily onhome repair projects and ongoing work at the nursing school, with potential opportunities to engage with local vocational student ministries. Accommodations will be provided at the Mission Impact Santa Lucia Community Center, about 30 minutes from Santa Maria.
Please note that due to the recent earthquake and evolving relief needs, the itinerary may change as the team works closely with Mission Impact to ensure efforts are directed where they aremost impactful.
