Congratulations to Alica Revett and Noah Send as our Outstanding Students of the Week from Northwest Education. They had wonderful support systems with them and promising life careers and goals.
Our many guests were introduced by Laurie Lapp which included the OSW's families, prospective Rotarians, and the 4 exchange students.
The Christmas Basket trio, Dan, Dale, and Steve, shared that we have 50 vetted families to shop for this year but they still need donations in order to shop for them all. Let's not leave them in a position where they have to leave some families out.
Susan Kraus announced details for the upcoming Holiday Soiree and urged everyone to RSVP for a merry time. Bring a Father Fred donation and you get a chance to win a Gift Basket donated by George Powell. She also shared an incredible opportunity that the World Community Service committee has planned for Quatamaula in Feb 2023. Details below.
Thanks to the fundraising that's done every year, our Club is able to give back through the Good Works Committee. Mirriam Owsley announced this quarter's awarded grants:
Families Against Narcotics - $1,500 for a Community Forum and Outreach Project
Grand Traverse Community Enrichment - $1,000 for a Youth Travel Seminar
Traverse City Area Public Schools - $2,000 for a Peer to Peer program
Inland Seas Education Association - $2,500 Campus Maintenance Equipment
The President of the NMC Rotaract Emma Gullicksen was introduced by Max Anderson as well as the head of International Services at NMC, Jim Bensley who accepted their well-deserved check for $1,000. They touched on the Bridge of Books to Uganda and their partnership with Planting Seeds while thanking Madison Ford who helped form the Rotaract at NMC.
All 4 of the Exchange Students shared some photos and facts from their homeland. It's always good to hear another view of this planet. Thanks, Carla Weaver and Pat Parker for getting them to the meeting.

It's the Holiday season which means our Club is putting together Christmas Baskets for families in our community and we need your help. Any amount you'd like to donate will help us bring smiles to kids and their parent's faces this winter.
The World Community Service Committee is excited to announce this opportunity to join a one-week educational tour in Guatemala to get a close look at Planting Seedseducational and community programs. Our Club has been supporting Planting Seeds since 2020, and as we learned during the club presentation in June they are doing amazing work!
