We’re thrilled to welcome Matthew Welch as the newest member of the Rotary Club of Traverse City!
Matthew has called Traverse City home for more than a decade, but his professional and personal adventures have taken him far beyond Northern Michigan. He currently serves as the Northwest Regional Director at the Michigan Small Business Development Center (SBDC), where he helps entrepreneurs and small businesses across ten counties thrive. Matthew is passionate about supporting local businesses, which he sees as the heart of vibrant communities.
Before returning to Michigan, Matthew spent over three years in South America as a Peace Corps volunteer in Peru, collaborating with coffee cooperatives, working on clean water and fisheries sustainability projects, and even traveling the length of the Amazon River on local boats.
Outside of his professional life, Matthew enjoys cooking and is professionally trained in French culinary techniques. He was drawn to Rotary after witnessing its impact in both suburban Chicago and abroad, and he’s excited to now serve locally through community and business development.
Let’s give a warm Rotary welcome to Matthew Welch — a leader, adventurer, and proud new Rotarian!

Need Help Promoting Your Event? To improve both internal and external communication, the Communications Committee has created a Communications Request Form.
Whether you need a meeting or bulletin announcement, or you're looking for PR support like social media posts or press releases, this form is the first step. Simply fill it out, and Liz will follow up with you to create a communications plan. Click the button below to find the form.
With so much happening in our club, it's best to submit your request as early as possible to allow plenty of time for planning and promotion. The more details you can provide, the better!
You’ll find the form linked in the bulletin every week, and it will also be added to the website once updates are complete.
If you have any questions or run into technical difficulties with the form, please email Liz at admin@traversecityrotary.org.
