Meeting recap - October 11th

  • Miriam shared her Thoughts of Gratitude and Reflection: A prayer for you to choose who needs it. 
  • Michael Jackson introduced Visiting Rotarians and Rotarians with guests: Kathy Bussel is back with us and we got to see our 4 exchange students. 
  • Chris DeGood led a very happy round of Happy Bucks with many birthday celebrations mentioned. 
  •  The 50/50 was $56 and was won by Steve Alexander. 
  • Carla Weaver encouraged members to see what kind of experience they would like to share with the exchange students to make their year truly unforgettable. 
  • The Spooktacular Rotary Blood drive is the perfect activity to do on Halloween according to Ramona Pleva. Let's get the slots filled up and blood donated!
  • John Roddy introduced our speaker, Michael Mittelstaedt, to present on Interlochen Film and New Media, an incredible opportunity for students at Interlochen.  
  •  The 4-way test was led by Michael Caruso.

  ~ World Polio Day is October 24th ~
 
 
Volunteer Workbees for Sabin Bottomlands Tree Plantings
  • Friday, October 28th & Saturday, October 29th 10:00am - 1:00pm 
  • Description: Help revegetate the recently exposed bottomlands of the former Sabin Dam by planting native trees and shrubs. 
  • Where: Natural Education Reserve. Meet at the Boardman River Nature Center, 1450 Cass Rd., Traverse City, MI 49685. 
  • Registration: No registration is required. Please email us with any questions!
 
Rotary Halloween Blood Drive 
  • October 31st from 10 am - 3:30 pm
  • Kirkbride Hall at the Grand Traverse Commons
