We will be meeting next on September 19th at The Great Wolf Lodge and our program will be about the Career Tech Center brought to us by Patrick Lamb and Nick Ceglarek.
Patrick Lamb attended Central Michigan University earning a Bachelor of Science degree. He attended Olivet College to receive his teaching certificate and began teaching at Lake Leelanau St. Mary’s. Mr. Lamb then moved to Northport Public School and served as Northport Public School Principal from 2001-2004. During this time, he received his Master of Arts in
Educational Administration. In 2004, Mr. Lamb became Assistant Principal at the Northwest Education Services Career Tech and was hired as Principal in 2010. In July 2019, Mr. Lamb was promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Career & Technical Education and Community Outreach. Mr. Lamb resides in Suttons Bay with his 3 daughters.
Dr. Nicholas Ceglarek studied mathematics, statistics, and psychology at Grand Valley State University, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education in 1996. Upon graduation, Dr. Ceglarek began his career at Rockford Public Schools as a mathematics and AP calculus teacher. While teaching, he graduated from Grand Valley State University with a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and later received his Doctor of Education degree from Eastern Michigan University. With 28 years of experience and 21 as superintendent, Dr. Ceglarek is passionate about ensuring every student has a pathway for a meaningful life. In July 2018 Dr. Ceglarek was appointed superintendent for Northwest Education Services. Dr. Ceglarek resides in Traverse City with his wife Darcy and has two sons.

Rotary Guatemala Service Trip
The volunteers for the 2023 World Community Service Trip to Guatemala are departing on September 23rd! Be sure to wish them safe travels and check out the website below to get up to date on Safe Passage and the other awesome projects they will be helping out with during their stay. Thank you volunteers for your service to these communities in need!
On September 24th from 12:30-4pmyou have the opportunity to help interview candidates for the 2024-25 Youth Exchange year. The event will be at NMC and some snack will be provided. Come on out and show your support for the program and help to make the important decisions to get students to go on the trip of a lifetime! On October 16thRotary Charities will be hosting its annual party to celebrate the work being done by grantees in the community and they would love to see you there! Doors open at 5pm and the program is from 5:30pm -7:30pm at the Cathedral Barn at Historic Barns Park. Hors d'oeuvres and drinks will be served. September 26th Meeting
Our meeting will be held at the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy on 3 mile rd. where the Mitchell Creek Golf Course used to reside. We will have our regular meeting indoors and then depending on the weather we will get a tour of their surrounding facilities. It is a BEAUTIFUL place so please come and enjoy the day and learn all sorts of cool information about the work they've been doing there. Lunch is still TBD, but most likely it will be Mary's Kitchen Port. The Conservancy office has a very long driveway, but you'll drive all the way to the back and parking is available right by the main building. The tour will be on very easy-to-travel flat land for anyone with mobility challenges, but an optional longer walk through their land will be available after the meeting as well.
