TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT YOURSELF NO ONE IN THE CLUB
LIKELY KNOWS - My real name is Emily, but in elementary school I was known as Emily M. because there were so many Emilys in my grade. In 3rd grade, completely out of the blue, I asked that my teacher call me Emma. Twelve years later it stuck, and now most people don’t even know my real name is Emily.
LIFE ROLE MODEL –
Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook, author and activist. I look up to her as a role model for women.
MOST SIGNIFICANT ACCOMPLISHMENT – Becoming the director of a nonprofit organization at age 23.
PROUDEST MOMENT -
Any time I am able to help an individual or family struggling with homelessness find housing (which in itself is hard in TC) and achieve some form of independent living.
FUNNIEST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO YOU –
For my 16th birthady party, my dad was in charge of buying the cake for my party. When it came time to sing and blow out candles, he opened the cake and on it it said “Surprise! You’re Adopted!” None of my friends could tell if he was serious or not. To this day, my friends still talk about that and how funny it was. (He was kidding…. I think.)
SECRET AMBITION - Marry Leonardo DiCaprio (but I really don’t want that to be secrect, so will someone tell him for me?).
But really, I would love to write a book someday.
IF YOU COULD BE ANYONE IN THE WORLD FOR A DAY (present or historical), WHO WOULD THAT BE---AND WHY?
Tina Fey or Amy Poehler. I love the precedent they set for women in comedy (specifically SNL) and they just seem like a great time.
