We will be meeting next on October 10th at The Hagerty Center. The program will be Rotary Charities with TART brought to us by Sakura Takano &Julie Clark.
Julie Clark has a long history in trail planning and development working on local, state, and national trail efforts throughout her career. Her background in ecology and communications and her passion for helping people explore, enjoy, and enrich their community is put into practice every day as the CEO of Traverse Area Recreation & Transportation (TART) Trails.
Julie and her family looked long and hard around the country for a community that they believed supported a planning and development approach that promotes clean air and water and provides meaningful ways to move around the community outside your car. They found that spot in northern Michigan in 2010 when she accepted the job at TART Trails. Julie provides leadership and oversees the delivery and execution of TART Trails’ vision of happy, active people making connections through a world-class trail network. Active in trail development efforts and policies at the local, regional, and state level, she currently serves on the Michigan State Parks Advisory Committee and as Chair of the Michigan Trails and Greenways Alliance. She and her family live near downtown Traverse City and couldn’t be happier to call northern Michigan home.

Elections
The elections for the Rotary board will be taking place during the November 7th noon meeting. We want all Rotarians to have a say in leadership for next year so please help to encourage your fellow Rotarians to attend the meeting at the Hagerty Center. The slate of candidates will be announced shortly and we will be doing an RSVP near to the date to ensure there is enough food and seating for everyone. If you have any questions, please contact David Ford at dford@fordinsurance.net
Blood Drive
The Rotary along with Versiti Blood and the GT Commons will be sponsoring a blood drive on October 30th from 11:30am-4:30pm at Kirkbride Hall in The Commons. We'd love for you to come and donate! The hospitals in our area need all types of blood and lots of it to ensure they can properly treat patients and all blood donated through Versiti goes right to local hospitals and people in need. Versiti makes the experience as safe and as quick as possible so we encourage you to take some spare time out of your day to donate. You can make an appointment here or walk-ins are welcome! If you have any questions you can email Ramona Pleva at drpleva1109@gmail.com
Honoring Ray Minervini
On October 31st we will be having our Tuesday meeting at Kirkbride Hall in The Commons to hold a special award ceremony honoring Ray Minervini for all of his accomplishments and his service to our community. We will be having a joint meeting with the Kiwanis Club. We would love your attendance for this special event and an RSVP will be sent out closer to the date to confirm for seating and lunch. If you have any questions, please contactSusan Krausat susankraus231@gmail.com
In the interest of time we will not be doing Happy Bucks or club announcements that day so be sure to email Liz at admin@traversecityrotary.org if you have any topics for the bulletin that week.
Do you have a friend, family member, or co-worker that you could bring to a Rotary meeting? We would love to get to know some new faces and spread the word to others about all that Rotary does, so next Tuesday bring a friend with you!
And there may or may not be a prize for the member who recruits the most people at the end of the year!...
Happy Birthdaythis week to:
