Will be held at the Great Wolf Lodge on Tuesday, February 14th.
The program will be the American Red Cross and feature fellow Rotarian Michelle Gallagher who is the executive director of the Northern Michigan chapter.
Public Relations Committee chair Tawny Hammond needs fellow Rotarians who are interested in joining her to help share our story with the Community and beyond. If you have writing skills, a zealous passion for Rotary, or even media contacts, please consider this committee and email her at thammond23@yahoo.com.
Our club has been involved with Safe Passage for many years--this short video provides a great overview of this live-changing program!
The World Community Service Committee is working with Safe Passage leadership to create a one-week service learning opportunity for our club members, probably in the fall. If you are interested in learning more, please contact Lorrain Beers lorrainembeers@gmail.com, Tome Petzold petzoldtm@goacentek.net, or Linda Racine linbracine@gmail.com.
Mark your Calendars for our partnership with Goodwill's Food Rescue from 9 am-12 pm on the last Thursday of every month. Our club has a long history of service with this great organization. (Not to mention a few of our club members helped found it!)
Volunteer duties will mostly include repackaging bulk frozen food into family-sized meals for redistribution around Northern Michigan.
This is an appropriate volunteer activity for club members of all physical ability levels. Family and friends (even prospective club members...) over the age of 18 are also welcome.
The next club volunteer shift will be Thursday, February 23rd from 9 am to 12 pm. We are hoping to have at least 6 volunteers.
