President "Holy Homer" Nye called the meeting to order.

Thoughts of Gratitude and Reflection were offered by Ramona Pleva.

Al Bonney and Friends presented the music: Lazy Hazy Crazy Days of Summer.

Chris DeGood introduced visiting Rotarians and guests.

Holy Homer reminded everyone that next week's meeting will be at the Holiday Inn.

Susan Kraus said the boat rally social outing to Power Island will be rescheduled to August 20th

Mike Meindertsma reminded everyone about the golf outing on August 26th You need not be competitive to attend, he said. Just come for the fun!

Jeanne Snow introduced the speakers, Doug and Anne Stanton of the National Writers Series. NWS, founded in 2010, is a year-round book festival and a destination for conversations with today's finest authors. Monthly author events bring in writers from around the country for sessions at the beautiful City Opera House. Nearly 9,000 people attend the events each year, and Doug Stanton (New York Times bestselling author and Traverse City native) said NWS has become a top-5 book tour for authors promoting their books nationwide. NWS also runs a series of programs (including Front Street Writers and Battle of the Books) designed to engage young people in reading and writing. Youth Exchange Host Families NEEDED!

We still need two or three host families for two inbound exchange student boys. One is from the Philippines and one is from Brazil. Please contact Carla Weaver or Katy Mccain if you can provide a 3 month home or know someone who might be interested. They could go to either high school. Please help us promote world peace one student at a time!

Annual Committee Assignments Confirmation

To assure the Directors and Chairs of each committee have a current list of members, please follow the steps below to check your listed committees.

Go to our club website at www.traversecityrotary.org

Click on Member Login (upper right)

Enter your User Name and Password

Click on Member Area (upper right)

Under the heading – My Clubrunner, click on My Commitments

Go down to your list of Current Committees. Check to make sure your committees are correct. If they are correct, let Dale Chilcote know you have no changes. If they are not correct, let Dale know and he will assist in making the required changes.

like a list of all club committees, please see him at the Tuesday meeting, or email him at dale@orchardcreektc.com.

It is common for a new member (1 year or less) to not have any committees listed. If you are participating in 1 or more committees and they are not listed, relay that info to Dale Chilcote.
