Note: On March 1, 2018, there was a joint meeting between the boards of Rotary Charities and Rotary Camps and Services. As an outcome of that meeting, there will be monthly updates on the activities of each board delivered to the club via the bulletin, and a verbal update at the following club meeting.
- In addition to great fellowship, at the joint meeting between the boards of Rotary Charities and Rotary Camps and Services, both boards agreed to work on improved communication between each other and with the club. This will include:
- joint planning efforts, further staffing coordination and collaborative budgeting.
- each board will appoint an ex officio member to serve on the other board – a non-voting member to act as a liaison regarding the activities of one board, to the other. - Rotary Charities has amended its lease with Omimex Resources, the company who manages the Camp Greilick oil wells. Moving forward, the royalty paid to Rotary Charities on its oil wells/facilities will be reduced by 25%, from 40% to 15%. This reallocation o revenue will be used to pay for approximately $114,000 in improvements to the wells. After the improvements are made, royalty rates will be restored to 40%.
- For the first time, the market value of the Rotary Charities investment portfolio hit $50 million!!!
