November 3, 2020, was a beautiful sunny day for an election and a Rotary meeting! President Mack put out the “call to vote” to our membership.

Homer Nye offered up an inspiring and eloquent Gratitude and Reflection message for today! We requested a copy of this message. In true Homer style, he shot from the hip and the actual message is available on the meeting recording.

Ramona Pleva gave a wrap up on Friday’s Halloween Blood Drive. Wonder Woman was spotted,  Mother Fred’s twin sister donated blood as did  Madonna and a dinosaur!

Susan from Versiti Blood Donation Centers said this in an email on 11/03:

“We ended up seeing 39 donors and collected 37 pints of blood! Those 37 pints will give us a HUGE boost as we head into the holiday season (when donations tend to drop significantly) and will help save over 110 local patients! Your donors are so generous, I just can’t say enough – the show of support from the community is pretty awesome, to say the least.” Thank you to everyone who donated blood, tried to give blood or dropped off yummy baked goods! All was greatly appreciated! We did good, we made a difference!

Mark Eckhoff announced that we need a chairperson for the Salvation Army Bell Ringing this year. It is shifting to an online format. All Rotarians interested are instructed to flood Kathy’s email inbox with an overwhelming desire to serve.

With a heavy heart, Sid Van Slyke announced that the 2021 “Centennial + 1” Rotary Show is canceled for Spring 2021. We just can’t do it. There may be an opportunity to reschedule the show later in 2021 but all plans are in a holding pattern.

President Mack announced that our Rotary meetings on Dec. 22 and Dec. 29 will be canceled for the holidays. Also to shake up our meetings, next week starting at 11:45, we will try breakout rooms on Zoom. This will allow smaller groups of Rotarians a chance to connect!
